| No Jet Lag, Thanks to Math Interventions! |
An excellent opportunity for teachers, curriculum leaders, administrators, and researchers to engage in the discourse surrounding the many lens of intervention in the education of our students
|
We invite you to attend the ICTM Pre-Conference on Thursday, October 16, 2008 in Peoria, Illinois to join in the many discussions centered around intervention with our Keynote and Breakout Speakers. Breakout sessions include intervention from a concrete perspective; one district’s response to intervention; meeting the needs of ELL students; interpreting data to make instructional decisions; the role of CAS for algebra instruction; a differentiated approach to math success; the use of technology to reach every student; and including students with special needs in standards-based math reform.
We are fortunate to have as our Keynote Speakers, Cyntha Pattison and Nancy Berkas of EdSights, LLC. They have been researching, synthesizing, and writing a 9-part series for the NCTM News Bulletin about “this thing called intervention.” They have had a wide range of experiences involving the achievement gap and understanding the complexities of the existing challenges. You can find these articles at: http://www.nctm.org/nb_intervention.aspx |
